Game Engine Architecture
October 19, 2010
One of the greatest books on game development I’ve ever read was Game Engine Architecture by Jason Gregory.
Jason Gregory is a developer at Naughty Dog, where he developed engine and gameplay software for Uncharted and Uncharted 2 (which is the best PS3 game ever so far, in my own honest opinion). So he really knows what he’s talking about.
The book covers mathematics, game dev tools, debugging, profiling, engine subsystems, tool pipelines and much more. One of the best things is an illustration of all subsystems of a game engine (from low- to high-level).
This is a must read for all people interested in game development or working in the games business.
